5 Tips to Avoid Crawling Under Your Desk and Eating a Snickers

by briangryn | July 22, 2018 | Eat Clean

Bring Healthy Low GI Snacks (almonds, orange, apple, etc.)

No not GI Joe?I mean low Glycemic Index snacks. And yes you can find them at almost any grocery store. ?And no they are not super expensive. The worst thing you can do is allow your blood sugar to drop during the day without having a healthy low glycemic snack at your disposal. ?Don?t rely on the office snacks because 90% of the time they will be junk (bagels, candy, etc.). ?All junk snacks do is spike your blood sugar and not give you sustained energy.

Drink water (boring but works!)

Roughly 60 percent of your body is made of water. Water will simply make you feel full and prevent from over-snacking throughout the day.

Go for a walk (with tight pants on)

Distracting yourself is a good way to avoid eating junk. ?Right when that co-worker tempts you with a cookie don?t even go close. ?Just go for a walk either in the office or preferably outside.

Chew gum (excessively loud)

Sometimes people eat out of boredom and having access to some solid gum will help take your mind off that bundt cake that is in your office????Sometimes just chewing anything will help do the job.

Make an announcement over the loudspeakers to your co-workers

When you become accountable to everybody (or at least the people next to you) you are less inclined to break your junk food rules. ?So tell them your intentions of not eating junk and see how you react.
