If you're over 40, fasting until lunch, cutting carbs, and training hard — but you're still stuck with low energy, flat workouts, or nighttime cravings — the problem probably isn't a lack of discipline.
It might just be a scheduling problem. In this week's video I lay out a dead-simple 7-day experiment to find out 👇
🍳 The 7-Day Experiment
Eat a real, protein-forward first meal within 1 to 2 hours of waking. That's the whole test — no calorie tracking, no extra cardio, no pushing your fast even longer. Just one change, held for 7 days, so you can actually see what it does to your energy, hunger, sleep, and training.
🥩 Easy First-Meal Options
• Eggs, potatoes, and fruit — quick and satisfying
• Greek yogurt with fruit and honey — zero prep
• Ground beef with rice and fruit — one of my go-tos
• Cottage cheese with fruit, or leftovers — meat, potatoes, fruit from last night
📋 What to Track Each Night
• Energy — how did you feel from waking until lunch?
• Nighttime hunger — were you fighting cravings later on?
• Sleep — did you fall and stay asleep more easily?
• Workouts — did training feel stronger and easier to recover from?
💡 Why This Matters
A lot of men over 40 turn fasting into a competition — pushing the first meal later and later, running on coffee, then paying for it with afternoon crashes and 9pm sugar cravings. This isn't about proving fasting is bad. It's about finding out whether your current window is actually working against the results you want.
Eat real food. Train hard. Stay consistent.
